The problem
Speaking and writing are the two IELTS skills you only improve by doing them and being told what to change. Practising alone gives you no one to say what to change.
What we did
Every answer comes back marked: an estimated band, a score for each of the four criteria, the user's own words with the costly phrases highlighted, and one thing to practise next. Pronunciation is judged from the voice, not guessed from a transcript.
What Bandwise does
All three speaking parts
Part 1 questions on 33 topics, a cue card with one minute to prepare, the Part 3 discussion, and a full 13-minute mock test.
Writing on the clock
Task 2 essays with a 40-minute timer and live word count, plus 20 Academic Task 1 charts and 16 General Training letters.
Marked against the descriptors
An estimated band and a score for fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, with every mistake shown next to a better version.
A band higher
Hear your own answer rewritten a band up, and keep its best phrases to reuse.
A plan from the test date
A week of practice laid out from the exam date, with fixes from every answer collected in one place.
Private by design
No account. Answers, scores and recordings stay on the phone and are not kept on the server after marking.
